Environmentally friendly
Fraké is a fast-growing hardwood species sourced from OLB-certified responsibly managed forests in West Africa. Platowood Fraké is a durable wood species and has a sleek, stylish and exotic look for such things as barbecue furniture. The surface has a subtle flame-like pattern accentuated by the process of platonizing (hydro-thermal modification). The pinstripes and pinholes that can occur in Platowood Fraké give the wood a characteristic appearance. As a sturdy wood species, Fraké is suitable for a variety of outdoor applications.

Lifespan 50 years
Platonizing strengthens the wood's present properties and breaks down the sugars - breeding grounds for fungi. This gives Fraké wood a lifespan of at least 50 years.

Less maintenance
Fraké wood shrinks less and expands very little. As a result, fewer cracks appear in any applied finish and the wood requires maintenance only after a longer period of time.
